Get out.

The 30×30 Challenge is this: get outside for 30 minutes a day, 30 days in a row. August is my month. Here’s what I want to get out of it:

  1. Disconnect from the screen and reconnect with nature. Hear it, smell it, touch it. Notice it. I mean, really notice. The David Suzuki Foundation says spending time in nature will make me “healthier, happier and more peaceful.” Okay!
  2. Practice the art of seeing. I have a camera. I want to learn how to use it. But I also want to develop an eye. I want to see the extraordinary in the ordinary, and I want to learn how to catch it in a photograph.
  3. Explore our local trails and parks. There’s beauty right in front of us, we just don’t often take the time to explore our own backyards.

This is my first photo project and I’m excited to post the results here. Thanks for joining me!
